What exactly is Glycerol MonoStearate?

Glycerol occurs naturally in the body. When it is ingested as a supplement, it is absorbed and increases the concentration of the fluid in the blood and tissues. The concentration of these fluids is held constant by the body, so water consumed with glycerol is not excreted until the extra glycerol is either removed by the kidneys or broken down by the body. In laymen's terms, taking glycerol in supplemental form quickly improves hydration and the absorption of other supplements that are taken with it. The end result is faster delivery of nutrients when and where you need them the most and the prolonged "pump effect" during your workouts. Our Glycerol is esterified with stearic acid to form Glycerol MonoStearate. Glycerol MonoStearate is a colorless, odorless and sweet-tasting flaky powder that is hygroscopic (it absorbs water from the air, so keep this tightly closed at all times).

 

Why are there calories and fat in GlycerGrow™ whereas other glycerol (or Glycerol MonoStearate) products do not mention calories or fat on their labels?

Good question. As far as the FDA is concerned, glycerol is a carbohydrate and stearic acid is a saturated fatty acid. Therefore, Glycerol MonoStearate has both fat and carbohydrates in it, which both result in calories. But you have heard that saturated fat is bad for your cholesterol? True, in most cases, but not with stearic acid. Stearic acid is one of the only saturated fatty acids that actually have a neutral or cholesterol-lowering effect on serum cholesterol levels in human studies.

Have been using roughly 6 weeks. 3 scoops preWO, 1 scoop intra. Def helps in a fuller pump and endurance. Love this stuff! Using now alongside XFA to help in ArA emulsification as is commonly recommended. Glycergrow = Good to Go!- schizm

Pumps are almost painful By: Paulus

I received my tub of Glycergrow last Monday and have used it twice so far. First time I took just 1 scoop 30min before workout.. I did just squats and calves because my elbow was hurt. Get good pump but it was hard to say if it was because of Glycergrow since I did 20 rep sets and those killers give me great pump every time. Today I took 1 scoop preworkout and mixed another in my water bottle and drank it during my workout. Trained back, chest, delts, triceps and abs. Now I can definitely say that stuff works! Pumps were almost painful and even my rear delts were full of blood. It felt like my chest could explode.. I looked really vascular. Can't wait for my next workout, it's gonna be biceps, forearms and legs! -g0hardorgohom

I decided to try it after many people told me the wonders of glycerol. I took the plunge and bought this product, let me tell you the pumps worked from day 1. I actually got a PR from first day usage. was very impressed with not only strenght and endurance but actual clean energy. Make sure you drink a lot of water, because this stuff really does bring the water from your body to your muscles. I really did not notice till my throat felt like someone put sand down my esophagus lol. Definitely worth the investment, and the container will last a long time since you should only use on training days.

The tub lasts forever, but perhaps that's because it's somewhat a pain to consistently dose. I've tried my tub off and on, but mixing the 3 scoops into ane pre-wo shake just ends up with tons of floaties and messes the flavor (salty). I try dumping the scoops in my mouth and washing them down, but the powder is very fine and I prefer something simpler. I also don't notice huge pumps from this, but that may be due to me working out first thing in the morning and drinking 20-40 oz. water.
