I Had seen a add for BSN and liked the clean no flash approach they used. So I did some mild research and after seeing the good reviews decided to give their protein a try. I picked up the banana flavor after waking from the high price induced comma. The first thing I noticed was the excellent texture and taste of this product far better than the (mostly store brand) whey proteins I had tried previously. No clumps no nasty after taste just great shakes you actually look forward to drinking. Then I noticed the effectiveness and boy what a difference from the simple whey concentrates I had been using. The main effect is in recovery ( Its still just protein so your not going to blow all your 1RMs away by using it) because for me it was instant. On my rest days my muscles felt worked out and as if they were pushing against my skin but the pain full soreness I was accustom to was no more. My guess is that it is the slow digesting proteins in this formula that really separate it from those consisting of just whey and it is a difference you feel. So I recommend this product if not on the taste alone but for the fact that IT DOSE WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO! You actually look forward for when its time to take it. I tried chocolate and its amazing, but strawberry? STRAWBERRY!!! my god I would serve this as a disert on a restaurant (no after taste at all, actually it'll be great if it had). I would recomend taking it at night before you go to sleep, so you get a full 6 hours of protein intake while you sleep, little expensive though, taking 2 scoops a day it last 15 days. I couldn't believe it when I first heard the reviews, but now Syntha-6 is my mid-day protein staple. The slower burning proteins are not best for post workout, but would be fine for a pre-workout meal enhancement or a mid day snack. Awesome stuff! It is far and away the best tasting protein if you are mixing it with water. I recently tried the reformulated (reduced fat, added fiber) Muscle Milk, and Syntha-6 is still superior. Strawberry, Mochaccino, Chocolate, Banana and Vanilla are especially good. Haven't tried Chocolate Mint yet. Cookies & Cream is an excellent rendition of the flavor, but I guess I'm not a huge fan of cookie-flavored beverages. |
