L-Leucine Mixing Problems By: CaseyReview posted on: Sat Oct 25 15:29:47 -0400 2008 The reason people have mixing problems is because L-Leucine is a very hydrophobic molecule. Because there is no polar atoms in the amino acid side chain of Leucine, this makes interactions with water in aqueous solution impossible. It has nothing to do with the quality, if anything it really points to purity. It shouldn't mix, and you should be suspicious if it does. After Waxy Maize Beta Alanine CEE Whey Have had very good results! Mixing is kind of challenging. I put the mixture in a cup with about two inches of water. I mix it with a fork and take the pretend it is a shot! I then add more water and swirl it around to pick up the leftover all over the inside of the cup. Mixing issues By: LeonardReview posted on: Sun Feb 21 04:16:59 -0500 2010 A teaspoon of citruline malate will completely dissolve leucine (or BCAA's) in water. Add some low carb drink mix unless you like the taste of super sour unsweetened drinks. Most anything that changes the ph of the water should work ok. Solid By: AndrewReview posted on: Tue Jun 16 00:36:50 -0400 2009 This is a very very solid product at a very good price. Definitely helps with soreness especially on leg days. Very tough to mix without blending though but it sounds like others have this problem. Casey is right...the reason this won't mix well in water is because water is a polar molecule and leucine is nonpolar and because like dissolves like they do not mix. This proves that NP is legit and that this is pure leucine. Great buy. By: JacobReview posted on: Tue Apr 29 12:30:28 -0400 2008 Good price from a quality company what more could you ask for? I had no mixing problems that I did not have with any other bulk Leucine, so no complaints there. Great price By: SteveReview posted on: Sun Apr 13 12:24:49 -0400 2008 Cheaper than BCAA's or EAA's and in my opinion more useful. Like many others have said, it is very hard to get it to mix, which is why I just keep the powder in a container, toss it in my mouth, swish it with water and swallow. Works well and doesn't ruin the taste of any other shake/drink! The good, the bad, and the clumpy By: ToddReview posted on: Tue Nov 13 16:55:35 -0500 2007 I am having mixed emotions about this one. On one hand, the price is excellent and I know this is a quality product. On the other hand, this stuff mixes about as well as my grandmother on two turntables. Eh, aminos By: DavidReview posted on: Tue Nov 13 16:55:23 -0500 2007 This Leucine I got was a fluffy white powder. Two tablespoons in about 20 oz of water, and some of it NEVER mixes in. One time I actually fell asleep, and when I woke up the next morning, there was STILL fluffy (now wet and clumpy-ish) powder floating on top. Be prepared for it. Good price, good stuff! By: N.Review posted on: Tue Nov 13 16:54:51 -0500 2007 The price for a kilo of this stuff is great, cheapest around. There's alot of articles and talk on Leucine and how it speeds up recovery and increaes protein synthesis in magazines and on the net.I'm a believer in this stuff.I take 5-10 grams with my post work-out shakes.I definitely notice increased recovery. |
