Customer Reviews: BC + EAA (330 g) by LG Sciences (Legal Gear)
8.5/10 By: NicholasReview posted on: Sat Sep 05 04:11:36 -0400 2009 Solid formula: 4:1:1 Leucine ratio +EAAs +glutamine -all the bases covered. The melon-kiwi was very pleasant tasting and not over-powering. Mixes well, Good Price. Well recommended product. 8.5/10 Sticking with XTEND By: RobertReview posted on: Sat May 01 14:47:15 -0400 2010 I tried this product because of the price and the profile. Was not impressed at all with the flavor . It tastes like artificial Nacho Cheese with a slight grape taste. Definitly sticking with Xtend Best Bang for the Buck! By: FedericoReview posted on: Wed Apr 14 21:04:07 -0400 2010 I cant choose one flavor because I had used them all. I was a heavy Xtend user, but the price was hurting my wallet. Once I seen the profile of the Aminos it was so easy to choose, this is by far the best flavor aminos i have ever used. I use the heavily on cardio days and work out days both pre and post workout. Recovery is superiour! and I dont have the nasty acid feeling that i would get from Xtend. bottom line by these! all flavors rock! great formula, lack luster taste By: ryanReview posted on: Tue Apr 13 12:01:44 -0400 2010 i bought this b/c of the price. after a week of giving it a chance, all in all i wasnt impressed. the only thing that makes it great is the profile. the taste doesnt go far at all. it just takes like a watered-down grape flavor. im used to mixing 2 servings of xtend in a 2 liter jug. 2 servings of this just doesnt cut it. if you like drinking your bcaa all day long in your water, this product wont do it for you. it didnt mix very well either. i tried it in a blender bottle, tried adding more water, less water, tried adding ice cubs. nothing worked. overall the only thing going for it is the profile. i dont want to give it a number score. instead hit the high and low points. xtend is still the superior product in terms of taste. i will be going back to my xtend grape. Horrible taste By: jakeReview posted on: Sat Jul 02 11:04:57 -0400 2011 I've taken many many mix drinks and this one is the worst. Pay more. I'm throwing the can away after only 2 servings....and I'm a cheap skate. It's THAT bad! Taste Dissuades By: FordReview posted on: Sun May 29 13:23:38 -0400 2011 It's a solid product and the composition is fine, but the taste is abysmal -- it's actually worse than unflavored BCAA. However, I'm only familiar with the grape flavor and the other two may be more palatable. Reformulated Flavour By: RosieReview posted on: Tue Nov 16 14:16:15 -0500 2010 Smell: 9/10. Like rock melon, with a faint hint of watermelon. Love the smell of fruit. Taste: 9.5/10. Defnitely NOT a watermelon-kiwi flavour - even though there was a hint of watermelon re scent. Instead, exactly like it smells, but better. Like rock melon. Fruit flavours are always awesome when they TASTE like they smell. It was NOT sweet - like the original Watermelon-Kiwi flavour, which to me tasted like cordial and I did not like it. I now have a NEW favourite flavour re BC+EAA and it is the new Watermelon-Kiwi flavour! Solubility: 10/10. On shaking there was no trace of the powder and no clumps or excess was left in the water or on the bottom of the shaker - although bubbles and froth were left on top of the liquid, rapidly dissolving. Texture: 10/10. Like fruit juice diluted with water. Other Notes. BC+EAA is a STAPLE in my supplement arsenal, and has been ever since I first used a tub last year. BC+EAA have become more important than ever to me, now that my body no longer handles protein powder at all - causing nausea and other upsets, no matter what brand or type of protein used - and so I no longer use it, sticking instead to food, BC+EAA, and Muscle Gels. A STAPLE By: RosieReview posted on: Sun Oct 17 18:02:40 -0400 2010 I have actually been using BC+EAA for a long time now - it hasn't left my supplements arsenal as a STAPLE since I started using it. I definitely give it a higher rating than when I originally review it - to become a staple, it has to be at least 9-10/10, and for me to continue using it indefinitely, a 10/10, which is what I give the reformulated version. *** I have now used 2 tubs of LG Sciences BC+EAA and have started on my third. I have used EACH flavour available (Kiwi - Watermelon, Blue Raspberry, and Grape). Therefore it is now time to give a review on the product. Smell: Kiwi - Watermelon - 8/10. Smelt like watermelon/cucumber. Blue Raspberry - 5/10. Smelt ever so faintly like raspberries; smell so faint it is barely there. Grape - 8/10. Smelt like grape flavoured Hubba Bubba. Taste: Kiwi - Watermelon - 5/10. This didn't taste like it smelt. In fact it tasted like fruit cordial, which I do not like. Blue Raspberry - 5/10. There was the faintest of faintest hints of something; but more bland than anything. Didn't taste like cheap cordial like the Kiwi - Watermelon flavour. Not sweet, either. Grape - 6/10. Tasted like a sweeter, sugary, watered-down version of grape juice. Solubility: 10/10. The powder did not dissolve at all on just adding to water. It didn't even dissolve on stirring. However, after shaking (which is the point) all the powder mixed with the water well, leaving no clumps. Lots of froth and bubbles lingering. Texture: 10/10. Like fruit juice diluted with water. Recovery: 8/10. I noticed the difference when I used my first tub more re recovery (and I was also doing the most hard and intense training at that time as well). I usually have very good recovery, but I was doing 3-4 training sessions a day and keeping the intensity and volume high without faltering. Muscle Growth: N/A. At no time during my use of BC+EAA was I focused on muscle accretion. Catabolism/Muscle Wasting: 8/10. I did not lose any muscle mass over the course of my usage of BC+EAA, even when I was unable to train as I would have liked (i.e. over the last 7 weeks). Overall: 8/10. This was my first time using a specific separate BC+EAA product (usually they are included in my protein powders, so I do not use another supplement). Definitely came in handy when I did NOT feel like having protein powder. Would I use it again? Yes. I still have the Grape flavoured tub to finish. And, as mentioned, since most of the protein powder that I have been using of late has been making me feel quite nauseous, BC+EAA comes in useful when I cannot bear the thought of gagging down a protein shake. Would I recommend? Yes. BCAAs are considered a 'staple' supplement, and therefore have a definite place in the supplement regime. Exactly What I'm Looking For!! By: John-ThomasReview posted on: Fri Oct 15 04:23:55 -0400 2010 This stuff has the exactly what I need for an intra-workout/later in the day recovery boost. Its a great ratio of essential, branch chain and glutamine...and the price is great. I buy two at a time and pound it liberally knowing that it can be cheaply replenished. Glad I found this stuff. One of the few products I can justify to my wife! Great deal!! I will buy again! By: ivanReview posted on: Mon Aug 16 17:43:21 -0400 2010 This is a great deal if...your a broke collage student like me, I actually like Watermelon Kiwi, i put 3 scoops in a water bottle and put it in the fridge 2 hours prior to my workout and then i just sip it during my work out. The reason why everyone is crying about the flavor is probably because they have not tried Water Mellon Kiwi. All in all this is a great product and i will purchase it again. Proceed with caution!!!!!! By: TimReview posted on: Thu Aug 05 10:33:57 -0400 2010 Many of the posts cover the taste issue. It could be an acquired taste possibly, possibly maybe, or maybe your one of the rare individuals that might like it. I have tried adding some flavoring, more water, less water, ice, etc. Just didn't do it for me, value= Awesome. If you can choke it down for the price, well it's a good deal, if not, Go Elsewhere!!!!!!!!!! I am trying 2 b honest and not a jerk, but LG made it difficult to remain neutral. I gave it a 3 based on cost and profile, as I am less sore and have a bit more energy, just a rank taste. Just trying 2 b fair so you know what your in for when you buy this product. Decent product; taste suffers By: BlakeReview posted on: Mon Jul 26 22:10:05 -0400 2010 Mixability is a little better than grape; but flavor is hard to tolerate. Product profile is good (though glutamine is a little low). It's a good staple for a cheap price (I like to use pre-bed or upon rising; but I use something with higher BCAA/glutamine content for intra-workout). ehhhhhhh By: DereckReview posted on: Sat Jul 10 15:44:27 -0400 2010 its profile is definately nice, and it does give me good energy at the gym. the only downfall i think is the taste. tastes like nothing, i think they need to come out with new ones with a stronger flavor. other than that decent product tom By: terryReview posted on: Fri Jun 04 15:16:47 -0400 2010 taste is great, and mixes easily. i bought lg's bcaa+eaa because of the low price. i found i like it a lot and will be buying more. keeps my energy level high during long sessions of cardio that can go as long as 2 hours. It's all about the Watermelon Kiwi By: AdamReview posted on: Sun May 16 14:05:46 -0400 2010 I know this is probably the last flavor people will try, because it's somewhat unusual, but it's by far the best. The grape and blue raspberry flavors are really weak tasting. The watermelon kiwi is the only one that tastes any good, in my opinion. The amino profile is excellent, so people can expect similar results to other powdered BCAA drinks, but you have the added bonus of the essential aminos plus 2 grams of glutamine, and the price can't be beat. Loved it By: TylerReview posted on: Wed May 12 12:12:56 -0400 2010 Blue raspberry is awesome. I had no problem at all with this flavor. It was cheap and effective. Mixed well for me. I put 12 scoops into a gallon jug of water and drank it thru my workout. No problems at all. I would definitely purchase this again. WTF is everyone talking about By: chrisReview posted on: Sat May 08 10:51:14 -0400 2010 Xtend is only $1 more and tastes 10x better. Not to mention the makeup of Xtend is much better than this crap. Tastes like glue to me. Xtend all the way! good By: FrankReview posted on: Mon May 03 08:48:12 -0400 2010 love this product gives me energy right a way i yous it be for my work out and can fill it working on me i give i a 2 thumbs up & a good job for the $$$ i pad its lovely ill be ordering some more Review By: mikeReview posted on: Fri Apr 30 16:28:34 -0400 2010 This is a good basic amino acid product, great profile. Mix kinda poor but I expect that from any BCA/EAA product 6/10 taste , I only had a sample pack but it was just something off with the flavoring 5/10 Decent By: BrianReview posted on: Wed May 06 20:41:01 -0400 2009 I just tried the blue raspberry, and wasn't very impressed by the flavor. Flavor wasn't very strong and had a weird aftertaste. I'll stick with Xtend. Big Fan By: AdamReview posted on: Wed Apr 22 20:02:28 -0400 2009 I used several bottles of this and was really pleased. This is a nice intra workout supp for me, and now with new flavors coming out, I am really looking forward to a little variety with this staple. BC + EAA: Blue Raspberry By: JuanReview posted on: Tue Feb 17 22:50:31 -0500 2009 Two words: tastes great! I've been using Xtend for close to two years with added bulk BCAA, L-Leucine, Citrulline Malate, and Beta Alanine. I started looking at incorporating EAA into my supplement lineup and after some searching came across LG's BC+EAA. This one is a keeper. I'll write an update to my initial review after I've been using it for two to three months. |
