This is the first protein I ever gagged at. I needed a chaser and a strong will after ever sip. An attempt to save money backfired is so many ways. Distributes throughout the body and doesn't go straight to the stomach and sit like most proteins. As for the taste, I've had better. It wasn't bad though. It's worth trying. I mixed the sample packet with one scoop of scivation vanilla (it has a light and neutral flavor, so it is great to mix with sweeter proteins like elite), half a banana, ice, and a water/skim milk combo in the blender. Frankly, I wasn't expecting much (I always thought of Elite as being so-so at best: very sweet, which I like, but a bit artificial tasting), but WOW. The taste was freaking awesome! I have tried the All The Whey CPB and thought it was not terrible, but quickly got tired of it. This stuff has a totally different flavor. Very heavy on the peanut butter with a light chocolate aftertaste. It has a sweetness to it that would probably be a bit much on its own, but was perfect mixed with the vanilla. It also reminded me of the sweet peanut butter taste of Reece's pieces (not sure if I spelled that right). Overall, this stuff might be my favorite protein flavor ever, and I will definitely order some with my next protein order. Butter toffee, chocolate mint, banana cream, orangesicle are all very good, probably the best protein powder I've used actually. And I've been using Dymatize protein solely for close to 2 years now. I'm about to try strawberries and cream and chocolate fudge. Havent tried the other flavors but wish I had when i got some for $25 a bottle. I had my friends tried it and they loved it. It tastes similar to milk shake. Maybe I'm just spoiled by All The Whey's chocolate peanut butter cup, but Dymatize's just doesn't compare in the flavor department. It's not bad tasting, just doesn't really taste distinct... just sweet with a bit of chocolate flavor, and the peanut butter taste is pretty much nonexistant. Not gag inducing, but I not awesome. Just mediocre. Hope the gains are good from it though! not the best tasting protein. All of the flavors taste great IMO.. I have tried just about every protein on the market and this is up there, towards the top of the list for sure. Bought on sale for $25 now reordering at $35. Haven't had a protein supplement in years but i just couldn't believe how good the chocolate is. It mixes well and has a decent taste even in water. Tastes much better with milk. Just ordered some vanilla! |
