I don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but it tastes like it has no sweetness to it. Just bland and awful, I definitely don't recommend it. If you drink it with water it tastes like Yohoo. And if you mix it with 2% or fat free milk it tastes like slim fast but better because it doesn't leave an aftertaste like Slim Fast. This was the first time I bought Isolate and I really was excited to try Delicious PB flavor. Boy was I disappointed! It tastes like a piece of burnt toast with Peanut butter on it. When the isolate first came out years ago, the flavors and consistency were always bang-on. Now, they range in sweetness, texture and at times a chemical type taste. Not sure what has happened but I've switched brands because of it. I think I must have gotten a bad batch because mine tastes like vanilla with mint...I don't even see that flavor on here. Im still burping mint as we speak! But you know what..if I did order vanilla mint, it would be a decent flavor. I guess I will stick with chocolate from now on...I can never go wrong with that. Whey Good! This product has the highest ratio of protein (g) to serving size (g) that I could find. Close to 90% with All The Whey. Most brands at other stores/vendors don't even come close (70% - 80% tops)... It is worth it to get the Isolate rather than the protein blend. Check the stats and you'll see the Isolate has a higher protein ratio per serving. Service sizes are also smaller with All The Whey when compared to other brands, which is nice... Terrible! I spoon a scoop into a glass of water every morning and get a little clumping, but nothing terrible. I've used a few powders that mix a little better, but many that mix much worse. With a blender it mixes perfectly smooth in water or milk, and though I haven't tried it in a shaker bottle, I have to imagine it would mix fine. As for the value: Of course it would be a better buy if it was cheaper. Anything becomes a better buy when made cheaper. That's a ridiculous statement. The fact is this is a quality whey isolate for the same price or cheaper than most other companies' whey blends. There's also no ion-exchange whey in here; just premium micro- and ultra-filtered whey isolate. This product and All The Whey's whey blend are the two best values in protein supplementation today, bar none. I used cinnamon bun, cup cake batter, chocolate, chocolate mint, chocolate orange and my wife uses the chocolate Lean & Fit. I've used a 5lber of each, so it wasn't just a sample. I've lost fat off my waist since switching to ATW isolate from ON Gold Standard. Apparently less fillers. I had been using ON for several years. I just wish Nutra would pick up more of their flavors so I could get it all at the same place. Great Job ATW. Keep it up. Mixed with water its not too sweet, and mixed with skim milk it tastes a little sweeter. Tastes great that way because if it got to sweet, after a while I would probably be sick of the taste, but not this. Considering that the serving size is 28.4g and the protein is 25g, thats 87.7% protein which is the highest I have seen so far with such a great taste. For the price, you can't go wrong, I can't wait to give Cinnamon Bun a try on my next purchase :). The Cupcake Batter flavor is great, really sweet, and mixes BEAUTIFULLY with milk. Label claim is 25g per scoop, which is excellent, and Isolate means less intestinal gas! Oh, and it's also flavored with Splenda (sucralose) which is a BIG plus for me. Great alternative to ON whey. |
